STOCKON, BACON EARN INDIANA SPRINT WEEK VICTORIES;

KOKOMO INTERRUPTED TWICE BY RAIN, TO RESUME AUGUST 26

Four races this week will conclude the 2015 Indiana Sprint Week championship as USAC AMSOIL National Sprint participants visit the Terre Haute Action Track Wednesday, Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville Thursday, Bloomington Speedway Friday and Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt Saturday.

Robert Ballou of Rocklin, Calif. is back atop the National points and has a one-point lead in the Indiana Sprint Week standings entering Wednesday’s race at Terre Haute.

Chase Stockon of Elizabethtown, Ind. won Friday’s ISW opener at Gas City I-69 Speedway. He led the final 18 laps after passing Jerry Coons Jr. on lap 13 in his Superior Tank & Trailer/Crescent Electric Supply DRC/Fisher. Hunter Schuerenberg took second ahead of Coons, Ballou and Kevin Thomas Jr.

Brady Bacon of Broken Arrow, Okla. won Sunday’s ISW 30-lapper at Lawrenceburg Speedway in his Mean Green/Lykins Oil Triple X/Williams Mopar. The win was the record 90th for car owner Dynamics, Ind. as Bacon led the final 24 laps after passing Aaron Farney on lap seven. Ballou came home second ahead of Justin Grant, Dave Darland and Farney.

Kokomo Speedway’s Saturday night program was interrupted during the semi and that event will be resumed August 26 as the opening event of this year’s “Sprint Car Smackdown.” The August 26 activities are not part of this year’s Indiana Sprint Week which is slated to conclude this Saturday at Haubstadt.

ProSource fast qualifiers were Chad Boespflug (Gas City), Grant (Kokomo) and Shawn Westerfeld (Lawrenceburg) while B & W Auto Mart Hard Chargers were Bacon (Gas City) and Darland (Lawrenceburg).

Following Saturday’s Haubstadt finale, the winning car owner of Indiana Sprint Week will receive the unique maple rocking chair crafted by southern Indiana’s John Youngs.
